Born in Miami and raised in the UK, Latavia Young is a filmmaker and multidisciplinary creative director based in Kansas City, working across Los Angeles, New York, London, and Mexico City.
She began her career in film and television development and production at major studios and production companies including NBCUniversal, AT WILL MEDIA, RadicalMedia, Jax Media, contributing to projects such as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (NBC), A Black Lady Sketch Show (HBO), Everyone Else Burns (Ch4/CW), Sorry Charlie Miller (Audible), Why Am I Telling You This with President Bill Clinton (iHeart), For All Mankind: The Official Podcast (Apple TV+), and The Boys: The Official Podcast (Amazon).
Her personal filmmaking—long an undercurrent alongside her production company and studio work—includes the Sundance-premiered 16mm short Grace (producer), My Fierce Aunt Bianca (co-director/editor), which screened at MoMA and Inside Out, HAILES for FIFA World Cup Fan Festival performance (creative director/producer), 2026 Reel Black Film Festival in collaboration with Janelle Monaé's Fem the Future (creative director), and the upcoming 16mm short Peeling starring Krys Marshall (writer/director/producer).
She is the founder of YEYA, a creative playground and dual-engine production company that operates as a nexus for commercial production, cultural storytelling, and tech-enabled artistic innovation via StoryStake (beta).
